Foreword

The

MLX-1000

is an Electronic Crossover Network with which you can install various types of multi

amplifier systems in a car.  The

MLX-1000

is to be used  with  high  quality  power amplifiers and

speakers in a multi amplifier system for hi fi (high fidelity) sound reproduction. The

MLX-1000

 has

linear phase active filters (Bessel function type) with which the group delay of the audio signals
can be kept constant from the filter passbands to crossover frequencies even if the filters provide
high rejection above and below their passband frequencies. Because of this, you will be satisfied
with hi fi sound particularly between the low and mid low audio frequency ranges and the richness
of bass sound. In addition, the

 MLX-1000

provides maximum flexibility to configure every possible

multi amplifier car stereo system. Before designing and installing your system, please read this
manual thoroughly so that you can set up the system that practically suits you. Having the

MLX-1000

in the center of your multi amplifier car stereo system, your car stereo system will provide you with
the ultimate in hi fi reproduction.

Linear phase filters (Bessel function type) realize natural and equal sound levels in and around
the passband frequency.

Features

Linear phase filters (Bessel function type) Most of the channel dividers currently available employ

flat response filters (Butterworth type). The group delay characteristic of the type of filters is much
worse than that of the linear phase filters, and this causes transient distortion in the audio signals
at each filters crossover frequency. To reduce that distortion and to obtain hi fi sound, linear phase
filters (Bessed function type) are used for the

MLX-1000

Hi fi electrolytic capacitors especially designed for dynamic sound reproduction

Phase inversion switches for checking easily a sound continuity between mid and high range
speakers

180 Hz mid cut controls with Q switches for adjusting a low and mid low sound
40Hz bass boost control for dynamic bass reproduction

This unit is designed for negative ground 12V DC operation only.
Avoid Installing the unit where:

It would be subject to high temperatures, such as  direct sunlight or from hot air from the heater.
It would be exposed to rain or moisture
It would be subject to dust or dirt

If your car is parked in direct sunlight and there is a considerable rise in temperature inside the
car, allow the unit to cool off before operating.
If this unit is placed too close to the car radio, an interference may occur, in this case, separate
the unit from the car radio.

13 FRONT HIGH phase inversion switch
These switches invert an phase between the speakers. Use them when you feel a bad sound
continuity between the mid and high ranges.

14 SUB WOOFER STEREO/MONO selector
Set the selector to MONO to make SUB WOOFER output monaural. When you use the SUB
WOOFER output as monaural, do not set the SUB WOOFER crossover point selector to 180Hz.
The balance to sound reproduction may be affected if you do so.

7 REAR MID crossover point selector
8 REAR HIGH crossover point selector
9 FRONT MID crossover point selector
10 FRONT HIGH crossover point selector
11 SUB WOOFER phase inversion switch
12 REAR HIGH phase inversion switch
