Installing Dr Solomon’s Anti-Virus

Testing your installation

Once you install it, Dr Solomon’s Anti-Virus software is ready to scan your
system for infected files. You can verify that it has installed correctly and that
it can properly scan for viruses with a test developed by the European Institute
of Computer Anti-virus Research (EICAR), a coalition of anti-virus vendors, as
a method for their customers to test any anti-virus software installation.

To test your installation, follow these steps:

1. Open a standard Windows text editor, such as Notepad, then type this

character string as one line, with no spaces or carriage returns:
