REAR SPEAKER POD INSTALLATION
Your Stage 3 system
does not come with NHT1-120BPR rear speaker pods
, but they are available
separately from MBQuart.com. These installation instructions demonstrate how easily they install when you
upgrade if you’ve pre-wired for them. The rear speaker wiring harness is already included in your kit!
The rear speaker brackets are designed to allow 180 degree
tilt. This ensures that the speaker points directly forward. This
flexibility in positioning improves sound quality and overall
volume. Note the location of the Adjustment Locking Screw is at
the rear of the assembly as shown in Figure 13-1.
STEP 1 – MOUNT SPEAKER PODS w/BRACKETS
Stock RZR roll cages use the 1.75 inch tube. If you have an
aftermarket or custom cage you will find the correct bushings and
mounts included in the box with the pods. Refer to the manual
included with the pods for additional details on mounting and wiring.
Mount the pod and swivel bracket to the roll cage tube. Once the speakers are on the roll cage tube, you
can gently slide the pod up or down on the tube to determine where your final height will be. Use painter’s
tape to measure and mark a general position so it’s even on both sides. Figures 13-2a and 13-2b show
potential mounting options to try out.
Once the general mounting position is chosen, do not fully tighten the pods
as you may want to do final adjustments for your ear height after the seat
is in position and the system is playing music.
STEP 2 – CONNECT WIRING
Make two (2) crimped speaker wiring connections as indicated in Figure
13-3 for the driver’s side pod. Illumination wiring is optional with accessory
rings. Repeat the two (2) wiring connections for the passenger’s side pod.
STEP 3 – HEAT SHRINK WIRING CONNECTIONS
Use a lighter or heat gun to heat shrink and seal the crimped connections
as shown in Figure 13-4 to ensure no moisture penetration.
Note: Do not zip-tie the wires along the roll cage or gather up excess wire
until the system has been fully tested.
