FILLING THE WATER TANK
–
Before removing the water tank and filling it with
water, make sure that the unit is unplugged.
–
Do not fill the tank (3) with scented liquids, vine-
gar, starch solution, descaling reagents, chemi-
cal agents etc.
–
Do not exceed the “MAX” mark (4).
1.
Make sure that the power plug is not inserted
into the socket.
2.
Holding the handle (9), press the lock (11)
towards the handle. Remove the tank (3) with
your free hand in the upward direction (fig. 1).
3.
Remove the plug (13) from the water inlet.
4.
Fill the water tank (3) with water, using the bea-
ker (16).
5.
Match the groove on the plug (13) with the ledge
on the water inlet and install the plug (13) to its
place. Do not use the unit without the plug (13)
installed.
6.
Place the water tank (3) on the unit body (2).
Click of the lock (11) indicates the correct instal-
lation.
IRONING TEMPERATURE
Dry ironing is possible at any temperature of the
soleplate (1). Steam ironing, vertical steaming
and cleaning of fabrics are possible only when
the temperature control (12) is set to the posi-
tion «••», «•••» or «MAX», otherwise water will
drip from the soleplate (1) openings.
–
Always check the recommended ironing tem-
perature indicated on the tag before ironing.
–
If there is no such tag, but you know the type of
fabric, refer to the following table to determine
the proper temperature. This table is only valid
for smooth materials. Fabrics of other types
(crimped, raised etc.) are best ironed at low
temperature.
Symbol
Fabric type (temperature)
•
Synthetics, nylon, acrylic, polyester
(low temperature)
••
Silk/wool (medium temperature)
•••
Cotton, linen (high temperature)
MAX
Maximum temperature
–
Sort items by ironing temperature first: synthetics
to synthetics, wool to wool, cotton to cotton etc.
–
The soleplate (1) heats up faster than it cools
down. For this reason it is recommended to
begin ironing at low temperature (for instance,
synthetic fabrics). After that start ironing at
higher temperature (silk, wool). Cotton and linen
items should be ironed last.
–
If an item is made of mixed fabrics, set the low-
est temperature (for instance, if an item is made
of acrylic and cotton, it should be ironed at tem-
perature used for acrylic ironing “•”).
–
If you can not define the fabric’s composition,
then find a part of the item which is not notice-
able when the item is being worn. Empirically
adjust the ironing temperature (always start
from the lowest temperature and gradually
increase it until you achieve the desired result).
–
Corduroy and fabrics that get glossy quickly
should be ironed strictly in the direction of the
pile, lightly pressing on the unit.
–
Silk and synthetic fabrics should be ironed on
the reverse side.
–
Vertical steaming is not recommended for syn-
thetic fabrics. To avoid fabric melting, do not
touch it with the soleplate while steaming.
–
Use the brush-attachment (14 ) for cleaning
fabrics in the steam ironing or vertical steaming
modes (set the temperature control (12) in the
position «••», «•••» or «MAX»).
UNIT OPERATION
–
When the unit is switched on, some water drops
may appear from the steam openings of the
soleplate (1) or some steam may appear even
if the steam supply button (6) has not been
pressed. It is normal.
–
If no steam is supplied when the button (6) is
pressed, check whether there is water in the
tank (3).
–
Press the steam supply button (6) only if the
soleplate (1) has heated up to the set tempera-
ture (the indicator (10) is not alight).
–
During heating, operation breaks and after
operation place the unit on a flat, heat-resistant
surface, using the base (5).
–
During operation hold the unit only by the han-
dle (9).
–
Never direct the outgoing steam on a person or
animals and never steam clothes put on a per-
son, because the outgoing steam temperature
is very high. Use a hanger.
–
Before installing or removing the brush-attach-
ment (14), unplug the unit and let it cool down.
Installing and removing
the brush-attachment (14)
–
Install the brush-attachment (14), matching the
ledges on the attachment (14) with the grooves
on the unit body (2), shift the attachment (14) in
