Releasing the button holds the last measured
value on the display.
•
If the object is further away, the laser pointer
assists in precise aiming.
•
For nighttime measurement turn on the
backlight.
•
The switch for ºC or ºF measurement is inside
the battery container, under the batteries.
•
For measuring ambient temperature just
press the "Tamb" button. The device will
show the ambient temperature only, further
measurement is not possible. Return to normal
mode with pressing the button again.

The device has an optical angle and a
measurement spot size as displayed on the
diagram below.
Make sure that the object is bigger than the
measurement spot size. For making the object
smaller you need to move closer to it. The ratio
between the distance and the measured surface
should be 6:1 as on the diagram below:

To protect the sensors from another object's
infrared light, go closer to the object until the
ratio is D:S=6:1.

Missivity
Emissivity describes the energy emission
characteristics for materials. Emission
enhancement means enlarging the emission
capacity for an object. Organic materials and
oxidized metal surfaces have an emissivity
between 0,85 - 0, 98. The device has been
designed so if the emissivity equals 0,95, the
measured temperature will be less than the
actual temperature, and vica versa.
Shiny metal surfaces and plain painted surfaces
have low emissivity. Pay attention to the effects
of the emissivity of the object.

If the battery's voltage is low, the battery symbol
will appear on the screen and the battery needs
to be replaced. Pull the battery holder cover,
change the battery and replace the cover.
