Formatting the Hard Drive

Restart the system. 

When the MaxBlast Plus II program starts, you will be notified that an 

unformatted hard drive has been found.

When asked if you would like to format the hard drive now, click Yes. 

The next 

screen shows the devices that are connected to your ATA/IDE cables. The new hard drive is 
identified with Partition and Format in red lettering.

4.

Click Next.

 The next screen looks similar to the previous one, except the information in 

the left hand instruction column has changed. MaxBlast Plus II asks you if you want to copy 
the information from your existing boot drive to your new hard drive.

5.

Disregard this message and click Next.

6.

When MaxBlast Plus II is finished formatting the hard drive, remove the disk 
from the floppy drive and reboot the system to the Windows desktop.

7.

After the system boots to the Windows desktop, double-click the My Computer 
icon.

 This opens a window showing all the devices on your system. You should see a new 

drive letter and icon.

8.

Right-click the new icon and drive letter, and select Properties.

 You should see a 

large amount of unused space on the hard drive and you can now start storing data.
