1.OUTLINE
An electric charge is generated when solid particles in the gas passes through the probe of
the dust monitor on the duct or pipe.
This electric charge is known as frictional static electricity or contact electrification.
The size of the electric charge can be calculated by the following equation and be regarded
as the value of the electrical current and is in proportion to the amount of dust.

After the signal for the current is filtered and amplified, an instrumentation signal and
a contact signal between 4mA to 20mA in proportion to the amount of dust are sent.
