CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS
• Check Liquid level in battery.
Before attempting to charge the battery remove vent caps and check
liquid level (not required for sealed lead acid and maintenance free
batteries).
Top up with distilled water if needed and replace vent caps.
• Charging a battery not in a vehicle:
Ensure 240Volt power supply is OFF
Connection black (negative) charging clamp to negative battery post.
Connection red (positive) charging clamp to positive battery post.
Turn on 240Volt power source.
• Charging a battery in a vehicle:
Ensure 240Volt power supply is OFF.
Position input cable and output cable away from risk ie: fans, bonnet
or door.
Most vehicles in Australia are negative earth (black cable to chassis of
vehicle).
In this case connect red (positive) charge clamp to positive terminal of
battery.
Connect black (negative) charge clamp to chassis of vehicle away
from any moving parts.
Turn on 240Volt power source.
• Disconnecting the charger:
Ensure 240Volt mains supply is turned off and removed from power
socket.
Remove black (negative) charger clamp from battery post or vehicle
chassis first.
Remove red (positive) charger clamp from battery post next.
