The connector provided does not allow access to the middle two pins, which are

C communications. If this functionality is required, Matrix Orbital suggests a
suitable connector be wired.
2.1.4 Power Connection (DB-9 Connector)
The display can be powered via pin 9 on the DB-9 connector. No matter which voltage option the display
is equipped with, the user may only use +5Vdc through pin 9. Using +5Vdc bypasses any voltage regulator
on the display.
WARNING
These modifications must be done. Improper modifica-
tions will damage the display and result in a void Manufacturer’s War-
ranty.

Solder the jumper in the ’red square’. It’s located by the DB-9 connector.
