eMOTION Spannungspuffer / Power Buffer
INSTALLATION:
The sketches below show various wiring diagrams of the eMOTION Power Buffer to a
decoder.
–
The red wire must be connected to “D“
–
The black wire must be connected to “Decoder -“
–
The white wire must be connected via a switch to “Decoder -“ also.
(This blocks the charging function during programming)
–
Preferred practice would be to connect the white wire
directly to the black wire (see operation)
–
Please see the special instructions if you use the eMOTION Power Buffer
in connection with a eMOTION XL Decoder from version V1.2
OPERATION:
The eMOTION Power Buffer is automatically charged if the switch is closed. During a
short power interruption the eMOTION Power Buffer supplies power to the decoder
automatically. To program or read the decoder, the switch must be open; otherwise
the charging function may interfere with the programming. In case the white wire is
connected directly to the black wire, programming may not be possible.
IMPORTANT SETTINGS:
The analog mode of the decoder must be deactivated if you use an eMOTION Power
Buffer; otherwise the decoder detects the buffer as a false power source and changes
to analog mode. Normally the analog mode is deactivated if CV29 bit2 is set to “0”.
Please check the correct setting according to your decoder instructions.
