CAUTION:
See the
“
Engine Break-In
”
section prior to
operating the engine for the first time.
1. Turning the key to “ON”, the light in the
display will turn on, and electronic
injection system’s fuel pump will start to
work; wait for 10 second before the
following operation.
2. Apply the brake.
3. Shift the drive select lever into the neutral
position.
NOTE:
●
When the drive select lever is in the
neutral position
“
N”, the neutral indicator
light should come on. If the neutral
indicator light does not come on, ask a
dealer to inspect the electric circuit.
●
The engine can be started in any gear if
the brake is applied. However, it is
recommended to shift into neutral ”N”
before starting the engine.
4. With your foot off the accelerator pedal,
start the engine by turning the key to
“START”.
NOTE:
If the engine fails to start, release the key,
and then try starting again. Wait a few
seconds before the next attempt. Each
cranking should be as short as possible to
preserve battery energy. Do not crank the
engine more than 5 seconds on each
attempt.
5. Continue warming up the engine until it
idles smoothly before riding.
