Chapter 2: Operation
Opening the UniView Application
To open the UniView application:
1.
Click the UniView icon to start the application
. The splash screen will appear while the application is loading.

If the application is not installed or incorrectly installed on the host device, see
Contacting Masimo
on page 35.
•
If the application is being opened for the first time, a Masimo System must be added. See
Adding a System
on page 25.
•
If the application was previously used, then the last used Masimo System will be automatically selected and appear at the top of the login
screen. See

on page 13.
System Login
1.
Open the UniView application. The last used Masimo System name will appear at the top of the login screen.
2.
Enter the Masimo System username and password credentials. The username and password are provided by your hospital Patient SafetyNet
administrator.
3.
Click
Login
.
4.
After successful login, the
Select Patient
screen is displayed. See
Selecting a Patient
on page 13. If unable to login to the Masimo System, see
Troubleshooting
on page 31.
Selecting a Patient
After logging into a Masimo System in UniView, the
Select Patient
screen displays a patient list.
To select a patient:
1.
Click the desired patient name in the patient list. If a patient is not in the list:
•
The patient may have not been admitted to the Masimo System. Only authorized personnel can admit a patient to a Masimo System.
Contact your hospital Patient SafetyNet administrator.
•
The patient may have been admitted to a different Masimo System. To switch to a different Masimo System, see
Changing Systems
on
page 27.
2.
After selecting a patient, the
Overview
screen (the default layout screen) displays patient data. The selected patient's label and room number
will appear at the bottom of the screen.
3.
Verify the patient label and room number displayed in UniView matches the patient label displayed on the PoC and the patient's actual room
number.
