Operating the HTC clamping chuck
4.1
Clamping a tool with a HTC clamping chuck with axial tool length ad-
justment
Warning
There are no guards on the machine.
Using the HTC clamping chuck in the machine without guards could
result in serious injuries to the operator.
When using the HTC clamping chuck all guards as per the EC Ma-
chinery directive point 1.4.2.2. must be fitted and the machine door
must be closed.
Warning
Clamping and unclamping with the machine not stationary.
Clamping and unclamping the clamping chuck with the machine run-
ning may result in serious injuries to the fingers and hands.
Switch off the machine. Only clamp and unclamp the clamping
chuck with the machine stationary or with it outside the machine.
Caution
Sharp cutting edges on the tool
can cause cutting injuries.
Wear protective gloves during tool changes.
NOTE
Ensure all components of the clamping
chuck (tool shaft and clamping bore)
are free of dirt.
1. Clean the tool shaft and the clamping bore
(see “Figure 4: Cleaning clamping chuck
and tool
”, item1).

2. Push the tool, shank first, as far as the
axial tool length setting screw in the loca-
tion bore of the clamping chuck (see
"Figure 5: Inserting tool").
