Inline Extraction Fan Kits - 150mm Std Profi le

1. The

interior grille

comes in two parts, the chassis (or spigot) and the fascia options. If using the gib-fi xing clips option, cut a 165mm hole in

the ceiling directly over the shower head ensuring fi rst that the area above is free from obstruction and between two joists. If not using the gib

fi xing clips option, cut a 155mm diameter hole.

2.  If using the gib fi xing clip option the white fastening wedge-type clips must be fi tted onto the grille body – the closed end of the ‘V’ points

towards the rear of the grille. Start the screw through the fl ange on the grille into the screw-hole in the clip with two or three turns.

If the ceiling or wall lining is thicker than standard 12mm board it may be necessary to use longer screws than the 4 supplied. When fi tted,

fasten the ducting onto the grilles using the tape supplied.

Push the grille fully into the hole and then use a screwdriver to push the clips up into the hole. Once through the hole the clips will spring open

and can then be tightened with the screw to pull back down onto the rear side of the lining. Tighten until fi rm only. Do not over-tighten.

Fit the fascia onto the chassis.

3.

LED models

Connect a suitable driver to the inline extraction fan kit and to a suitable power supply, ideally to be switched independent of the extraction fan

installed (Diagram 1).

Recommended driver:

FAN5342

Replacement lamp:

LHT0221

4.

Halogen lamp models

Connect a suitable transformer to the inline extraction fan kit and to a suitable power supply, ideally to be switched independent of the

extraction fan installed (Diagram 1).

Recommended transformer:

FAN6696

Recommended lamp:

FAN0431

5.  Place the white ceiling cover onto the inline extraction fan kit chassis by positioning over the 3 lugs, and twisting clockwise.

6.  Never connect mains direct to the lamp.

7.  The transformer/driver must be suitable for 230V AC input.

CAUTION:  Disconnect the power supply, and be sure that the lamp has fully cooled before removing or replacing.

8.  Select a suitable place for the fan to be screwed to a joist and secure using two screws through the fi xing bracket. The fan motor is of ball

bearing design to prolong the life of the motor.

NOTE: The discharge end of the fan unit is the end where you can see the fan blade clearly. There is also an arrow on the unit

 showing

airfl ow direction.

9..  For the

exterior grille

select a suitable position either in either the soffi t or on an outside wall for your eggcrate grille. Carefully remove the

grille insert from its housing by levering gently at the sides with a small screwdriver. Cut a 165mm hole ensuring fi rst that the area above is free

 from

obstruction.

10. Attach one end of the fl exible duct to the spigot with the duct tape provided and, from the outside, feed the duct through the hole until the grille

is fl ush with the soffi t/wall.

Mark the position of the fi xing holes on the soffi t/wall. Drill the holes and screw the grille to the soffi t/wall then refi t the grille to the chassis.

NOTE: It is best not to cut the fl exible duct until the grille has been screwed to the outside surface to avoid the possibility of

cutting the duct too short.

11. Pull the fl exible duct gently to the discharge spigot of the fan and cut it to length and connect to the fan with duct tape provided.

NOTE: The discharge end of the fan unit is the end where you can see the fan blade clearly. There is also an arrow on the unit

 showing

airfl ow direction.
