ADJUSTABLE LENGTH (LA) - Thermal Expansion and Odd
lengths
The
LA
has two functions. It is used to compensate for thermal expansion
and make up odd lengths of duct.
NOTE:
The
LA
cannot be used in positive pressure system. A Bellow Length (
LB)
must
be used instead. In a case there is also an odd distance to fit in a positive pressure
systeme, a Variable Length
(LV)
can be combined with a
LB
.
It is shipped with graphite band assembly preassembled on the sliding inner
pipe. See
Figure 13
.

• A sliding inner wall that fits closely inside a standard pipe section and it is flanged on
one side.
• An adjustable gasket assembly, composed of;

two containing rings;
◦
one compression band (metal Tie Wraps)
◦
a graphite packing gasket
◦
one double flanged band
◦
one other single flanged band
• Insulation band (DIS PRO only)
• two half outer casing (DIS PRO and DAS PRO ONLY)
NOTE:
Sealant must be ordered separately. See
SEALANT USAGE in SECTION C
.
There is also a supplied tool with this assembly. This tool works as a spacer
when tighten the bolts of the containing rings on the graphite gasket. See
Figure 18
.

Do not remove this adjustable gasket assembly from the inner pipe.
