Click Start in
Add/Remove Applications

If the Device Security Password dialog box appears, type your device password. Click

If the Communication Port Selection dialog box appears, specify a communications port.

Locate the folder for the CoolMIR driver and double-click the CoolMIR_V5_0_US.alx file.

Close the Desktop Manager and Unplug the BlackBerry from your PC or Mac.

Follow the OTA instruction on the previous page form step 5 to 14 to turn the software on and
connect the keyboard.
For Restricted BES Users
If you are a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) user and your BES does not allow you to download a
third party application or does not allow third party software to use the “keystroke injection API”, the
BES administrator can create a software configuration on the BES and push out the CoolMIR software
over the air to your BlackBerry. Contact your BES administrator and request for an Application Control
Policy permission to use the CoolMIR software. Below is the instruction on how to do that on the BES.

Follow the instruction “How to create a software configuration to deploy third-party applications to
BlackBerry smartphones from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server over the wireless network” to create
software configuration for the CoolMIR software.
(Read the Notes on the next page first and make
sure you include the changes in the note when you create the software configuration).
