General
Before starting to use the machine you need to read and fully understand the manual!!!
This manual contains important information about the proper way of installing, operating and
maintaining the equipment described in this manual. When using any pickup crane there are a
different kind of risks that you may incur, risks in personal injuries or property damage. Everyone
who comes into contact with the installation, maintenance or operation of the pickup crane must be
fully familiar with the contents of this manual. To protect yourself against personal injury or property
damage you need to follow the following information and instructions in this manual.
Every Mammuth pickup crane is manufactured in accordance with the Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC. Every crane is supplied with a manual including a declaration of conformity,
maintenance protocol and maintenance legenda. These must be stored and kept up to date properly.
Because of quality reasons constant improvements are going to be made on the equipment.
Valkenpower BV (holder “Mammuth”) reserves the right to alter specifications of the equipment
described in this manual.

Safety rules
1.
Only people which are familiar with the entire contents of this manual and the risks/dangers
that come with working with a pickup crane are allowed to operate the pickup crane.
2.
Only a specialized mechanic/company is allowed to install the crane on the pickup.
3.
Make sure the crane is properly mounted to the truck bed and that it stands straight.
4.
Do not exceed the crane’s maximum capacity, which is 2000lbs/900kg.
5.
Check the crane before EACH use, in case of defect the crane has to be decommissioned
immediately until it has been repaired.
6.
Always engage the parking brake before using the crane. Do not lift load if vehicle is moving!
7.
Before lifting, lock the turntable with set screw.
8.
When extending the arm, make sure to follow the max. load indication.
9.
Avoid moving parts when operating the crane and stay away from the lifted load at all times.
10.
Do not swerve until the load is lifted to the desired height.
11.
All safety pins have to be in place and secured before lifting.
12.
Damaged parts have to be replaced with original Mammuth parts.
13.
Never lift people or hoist loads over people.
14.
At all times stay alert when working with the crane and use your common sense.
15.
It is strictly forbidden to operate the crane when you are tired or under the influence of
alcohol, drugs and/or medicines.
16.
Never place yourself or others between the crane and the load when operating.
