Moving Coil Electronic Shutter
The electrical consumption of Mamiya's
newly developed Moving Coil Electronic
Shutter is only 1/10 that of the electro-
magnetic system currently in wide use.
Moreover, the consumption remains
constant regardless of the shutter
speed, which greatly increases battery
life.
Furthermore, battery performance is
maintained at a high level, as indica-
ted in the accompanying diagrams.
The moving coil condenser is nor-
mally charged, which keeps the bat-
tery at peak voltage, and from drops
in voltage when the switch is turned
on.

The moving coil condenser (B) is normally
charged. At this time, no current is flowing.
When the first blind moves, the exposure
time condenser (A) begins to charge. The
righthand latch holds back the second
blind. The charge time of condenser (A) is
determined by the shutter speed.
When condenser (A) reaches the deter-
mined voltage, condenser (B) discharges,
which energizes the moving coil and moves
the second curtain latch.
Condenser (B) charges. The charge time
is very short and uses little electrical
power.
