First of all, detach the saw blade for your safety repair.

( 1 ) Remove retaining ring S-45.  See Fig. 2.

( 2 ) Remove safety cover, and disconnect tension spring 5 from blade case.  See Fig.3.

( 3 ) Remove gear section by unscrewing 2 pcs. of counter sunk head screw M6x20.  See Fig. 4.
