OPERATING GENERATOR
STARTING THE ENGINE
1. Remove all connections from the AC sockets.
2. Open the fuel valve.
3. Turn the STOP SWITCH to the ‘ON’ position.
4. If you are starting the generator in low temperature conditions, close the choke
lever fully. If not, open the choke lever fully.
5. Pull the starting handle lightly until you start to feel resistance. Return the handle
to its original position and pull swiftly. Do not pull the rope out all of the way.
6. You may have to do this more than once.
7. Once the engine has successfully started, gradually open the choke by turning the
choke lever until it is in the fully open position.
CONNECTING ELECTRICAL DEVICES
The generator can supply 230V AC through 2 x 15amp sockets. Before connecting
any devices, uncoil the earth stake and push firmly into an appropriate area of earth.
1. Connect the appliance to the generator starting with the device that draws the
most current.
2. Se
t the circuit breaker to ‘ON’.
SHUTTING DOWN THE GENERATOR
1. Disconnect all appliances connected to the generator.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
3. Set the fuel supply valve to OFF.
4. Pull the starter handle slowly until resistance is felt, then return handle to its
original position. This is necessary to prevent moist air from entering into the
combustion chamber.
NOTE:
To stop the generator in an emergency, t
urn the ignition switch to the ‘OFF’
position.
