module when the switch is working, install the new fan module in time to
ensure the normal using of the switch.
The changing process of the fan module of S6600 series routing switch chassis is
similar. The following takes SM6600-08-MF as an example.
The changing steps are as follows:
Step 1:
Wear the anti-static wrists, use the cross screwdriver to loosen the captive screws on the
fan module.
Step 2:
Use one hand to hold the handle of the fan module and the other hand to hold the fan frame
of the fan module and pull out the fan module along the slot guide rail. Put the un-installed
fan module on the ESD mat or the initial packing box. The diagram of un-installing the fan
module is as follows:

Step 3:
Insert the fan module along the slot guide rail into the fan module slot, making the fan
module well-contacted with the chassis backplane.
