PROBABLE CAUSES OF FAILURE
NORMAL OPERATION
Ignition ON
The rear left RPAS sensor undergoes a self-diagnosis
and confirm its proper functioning to RPAS ECU
DTC DETECTING CONDITIONS
Ignition ON
A malfunction detected in rear left RPAS sensor
DTC REACTIONS
RL sector in infotainment will display a cross mark
HEALING CONDITION
Ignition Off then On
Improper fitment of rear left RPAS
sensor
Rear left RPAS sensor defective
RPAS ECU receives inputs from 04 RPAS sensors .The RPAS sensors are ultrasonic proximity
detectors which are mounted on the bumper, vibrates at its resonant frequency and emits a sound
wave that bounces off objects in the vehicle’s path. The reflected echo is detected by the sensor. The
sensors internal circuit tracks the time taken for the echo and compute the distance from the vehicle
to the object
