Shifting Driving Modes
Automatic Locking Hubs (If Applicable)
Note:
When you shift to 4WD mode, an audible
‘click’ will indicate that automatic locking
hubs are engaged and therefore power
is being transmitted to the front wheels.
While changing back to the 2WD mode,
the hubs need to be released.
To release the Locking Hubs
• Shift from 4WD to 2WD
• Reverse the vehicle in a straight line for
about a meter.
• An audible ‘click’ will indicate that the
hubs have been released
Manual Locking Hubs
The free wheeling hubs disconnect the
drive at the front wheel hubs so that the
front axle compounds do not need
to be rotated when the vehicle is driven
on the rear two wheels.
This provides improved fuel economy &
reduces noise & wear.
Turn both the hub dials to the ‘Free’
position when the transfer lever is shifted
to the 2H position. Turn both the dials to
the ‘Lock’ position when the transfer lever
is shifted to the 4WD position, either 4L
or 4H.
