When do I need to descale ?
Your appliance will automatically tell you when it needs to
be descaled: the
indicator will come on.
How long does it take ?
Approx. 30 minutes.
How do I do it ?
Your appliance has an automatic descaling programme which makes the
whole process simple and efficient. Just follow these steps:
Phase 1: descaling
1. Check that your appliance is
switched off
and has cooled down. Fill the tank with water and
then add the descaling product
(never the other way round)
according to the manufacturer’s
instructions on the packet. Remove the filter holder. Place a fairly wide container (e.g. small
bowl) under the extractor head and the pipe.
2. Starting the automatic descaling programme:

for approx. 5 sec

indicators will start flashing. The water will intermittently flow through the
extractor head for approx. 9 minutes.
3. When the
indicator light goes off and
comes on, turn the selector function to
.
The water will intermittently flow through the pipe for approx. 9 minutes. When all the indica-
tor lights flash (except for the middle one, which will remain on), this means that the descaling
phase is over.
Phase 2: rinsing
1. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Empty the bowl and put it back on
the grid of the drip tray.
2. Starting the rinsing phase:

light will come on and
will start flashing. The water will intermittently flow through
the pipe for approx. 5 minutes.
3. When the
indicator light stops flashing and stays on, turn the function selector to . The
water will intermittently flow through the extractor head for approx. 5 minutes.
When all the indicator lights go out, this means that the entire descaling process is complete.
NB : If you make a mistake during this process, you can halt the automatic descaling
programme by unplugging your appliance. When you plug it back in, the
indicator light
will keep flashing until you have followed the entire descaling programme.
