Introduction
Magenta’s
Voyager
series
is
a
modular
video
extension
system.
It
is
field
‐
configurable
to
handle
a
wide
variety
of
digital
and
analog
video
formats,
extending
their
reach
using
readily
available
IT
‐
grade
fiber
‐
optic
cable.
The
system
is
based
on
a
standardized
Voyager
CORE
module,
which
provides
the
primary
image
‐
processing
and
fiber
‐
optic
link
functionality.
To
the
CORE,
an
optional
VIDEO
and/or
AUX
module
can
be
easily
attached.
VIDEO
modules
are
offered
in
different
models,
supporting
digital
and
analog
video
formats
at
virtually
any
resolution
or
refresh
rate.
The
AUX
module
adds
support
for
serial
RS232,
analog
stereo
audio,
and
IR
(remote
control)
signal
extension
as
well.
Voyager
extension
technology
currently
supports
these
signal
types:

Video

HDMI
&
DVI
digital
video.
o
VGA
(RGB+HV)
analog
video.
o
Composite,
component,
and
Y/C
(S
‐
Video)
formats.
•
Audio
o
Embedded
HDMI
audio
streams
(8
channels).
o
Stereo
line
‐
level
analog
audio.
•
Serial
o
RS232.
Simplex
or
full
‐
duplex.
The
Voyager
video
extension
technology
can
be
used
in
point
‐
to
‐
point
applications
and
a
variety
of
switched,
distributed
and
daisy
‐
chained
applications
as
well.
Note: The IR capability is designed into the hardware, but not currently supported by the firmware. Check with Magenta
