Gear shifting
The MT is equipped with an automatic transmission that has
four forward and one reverse gear.
In the driving gear drive (normal operation) the transmission
shifts automatically from the first through to the fourth gear.
If the MT is equipped with the MAFI Eco Mode (MEM), then
the automatic transmission has five forward gears and one
reverse gear.
In the driving gear drive (normal operation) the transmission
shifts automatically from the first through to the fifth gear.
To adapt to unusual terrain such as steep slopes or extreme
inclines, additional lower or higher driving ranges can be
selected.

The MT is optionally equipped with the MAFI Eco Mode
(MEM). MEM stands for an economic driving program that can
save up to 20% fuel. The MEM can independently determine
whether the MT is being driven with or without load. During
movement without load, the transmission automatically
switches at a low engine speed.
If, in MEM, the MT only runs at idle speed or stops, the engine
controller has failed. For help information, refer to

page 129
in Chapter “SELF-HELP”.
