Chapter 2: Installing the Server Configuration
Installing ColdFusion MX 6.1
This section provides installation instructions for the ColdFusion MX 6.1 server configuration on
Windows and UNIX. When installing the server configuration, you have the following options:

New installation
Select this option if you do not have ColdFusion MX on the computer or if
you have ColdFusion 4.5 or 5 on the computer.
•
Update existing ColdFusion MX
Select this option if ColdFusion MX is already installed on
the computer. You must update the existing version; ColdFusion MX and ColdFusion MX 6.1
cannot co-exist on the same computer.
Although the ColdFusion MX 6.1 installer provides an intuitive interface, it helps to plan your
answers to the questions asked by the installer:
