This section describes how to connect the ViroSub to AC power.
Se t the vol t age
Before making any connections, make sure that the ViroSub is set to your local AC
Power voltage. The 100-120V/220-240V selector on the rear of the ViroSub is
factory preset for AC 230 Volt. If your local AC power is AC 100-120 Volt, move
the switch to the 100-120V position before turning it on.
Conne ct the pow er c or d
Three AC power cords are included with the System. Use only the cord with a plug
that fits your AC wall outlet. If none of the plugs fit your wall socket, you must
purchase a standard AC power cord with the correct local plug.
1 Make all other connections first, before connecting the AC power cord.
2 Connect the AC power cord between the AC Input on the rear of the ViroSub and an
active AC wall outlet.
The green-and-yellow wire of the mains cord must always be connected to an
installation safety earth or ground. The earth is essential for personal safety as well
as the correct operation of the system, and is internally connected to all exposed
metal surfaces. Any rack framework into which this unit may be mounted is
assumed to be connected to the same grounding circuit.
Appl y power
Turn the ViroSub on using the On/Off power switch.
For normal use, the main AC power switch should be left on. Turn it off only when
the system will be left unattended or unused for more than a few days.

The s ta tus indica tor
The ViroSub status indicator (the little lamp on the front) will turn red for Standby.
When a signal is present, the status indicator will turn green. If there is no signal for
a period of time, the System will automatically go into Standby and the status
indicator will turn red. The System will automatically turn on again whenever a
signal is detected.
