Troubleshooting and Harness Schematics
For troubleshooting information, refer to Table
NOTE:
Pulse width modulation (PWM) valve control harness (MD #256652) is part of the harness and module assembly
(MD #256653) supplied in the kit.
Table 4.1 Troubleshooting
Problem
Solution
Refer to
Symptom: The hazard and turn signal lamps are not working AND the Header ID is not recognized
Poor HC-2 connection
Confirm HC-2 connectors are connected properly. Confirm all pins
are seated properly.
•
Refer to HC-2 in
Step
.
•
Also refer to 256650
in Figure
Symptom: The hazard lamps or one of the turn signals does not work
Poor ground connection
Check ground wire at pin 22, C20E-R1 (male 29-pin round
connector), on adaptor harness MD #256650.
No power at right turn
signal
Check power wire at pin 17, C20E-R1 (male 29-pin round
connector), on adaptor harness MD #256650.
NOTE:
To keep constant power while checking for 12V power on the
RIGHT
turn signal circuit, activate the
LEFT
turn signal.
Refer to 256650 on
Figure
No power at left turn
signal
Check power wire at pin 6, C20E-R1 (male 29-pin round
connector), on adaptor harness MD #256650.
NOTE:
To keep constant power while checking for 12V power on the
LEFT
turn signal circuit, activate the
RIGHT
turn signal.
Symptom: No Header ID or code 0000 generated on the display
NOTE:
Once the problem is resolved, depending on the CDM software version, the header ID might appear as a
“
Disc
”
during
the initial engine start, or displayed as binary code
“
0001
”
in the upper right portion of the HEADER CUT WIDTH screen.
Both of these header ID
’
s are correct.
R113 header is equipped
with old header harness
MD #256571
Move wire from pin 13 to the pin 11 position in connector
C20B-R1.
Refer to C20B-R1 on
Figure
Reference voltage
problem
•
Check for reference voltage (+9ve) between pin 7 and pin 8
(ground connection) on adapter harness (MD #256650)
connector C20E-R1.
•
Disconnect adaptor harness from the rotary disc header and
check for continuity between pins 7 and 11 on the rotary disc
header harness (MD #256586) connector C20B-R1.
•
Check for continuity between pins 2 and 3 on adapter harness
connector HC-2B.
•
For the adapter
harness, refer to
256650 on Figure
•
For the header
harness, refer to
256586 on Figure
