Checking Fuel Separator
The fuel separator removes water and sediment from the fuel to prevent damage to the engine. It will need to be
inspected to ensure that it is clean.

1.
Place a container under filter drain valve (A).
2.
Turn drain valve (A) by hand 1 1/2 to 2 turns
counterclockwise until fuel begins draining.
3.
Drain the filter sump of water and sediment until clear fuel
is visible. Clean the sump as needed.
4.
Turn drain valve (A) by hand 1 1/2 to 2 turns clockwise
until tight.
5.
Dispose of the fuel in a safe manner.

Checking Engine Coolant Level
Coolant is cycled through the engine to help reduce internal heat. The coolant must be at the appropriate level for the
cooling system to work correctly.
