V. Run Testing and Complete Installation
Testing is important to make sure the device is connected to the vehicle systems properly
and that no active faults exist in the vehicle system.
Completion of the installation consists of these subsections:
Gauge the Voltage of the Wire Connections
Test Event Creation and Upload
Test Wire Connections and Settings in the Lytx Installation Tool
Gauge the Voltage of the Wire Connections
Using a voltmeter, check the wire connections on the Vehicle Interface Cable.
Wire Connection
Voltage
Constant power (red)
12V/24V - without the key in and with the door closed
Ignition (brown)
12V/24V - with the ignition on
0V - without the key in and with the door closed
Left turn signal (typically
white)
With the vehicle running and the left turn signal on, voltage
must cycle between 0V and 12V/24V.
Right turn signal (typically
purple)
With the vehicle running and the right turn signal on, voltage
must cycle between 0V and 12V/24V.
Brake (blue, if needed)
12V/24V when the brake pedal is pressed down.
Test Event Creation and Upload
1. Key the ignition to ON.
2. Plug the Vehicle Interface Cable into the Device
Power Cable.
