Note:
A LAN segment is a section of a local area network that is used by a particular workgroup. It
may be separated from the rest of the LAN by a bridge, router or switch.
Remote PC Operation for Windows XP Professional (Remote Desktop Connection)
This setup can be used in most office environments and with any PC that is connected to the LAN.
The remote PC must be installed with Windows XP Professional.
Setting it up
Remote Desktop on the remote PC must be enabled to complete the connection. To set up the con-
nection you should:

Enable Remote Desktop on the remote PC

Set a password for the remote PC

On the remote PC, right-click on the
My Com-
puter
desktop icon and choose
Properties
.

Click on the
Remote
tab. Under
Remote Desk-
top
, check
Allow users to connect remotely to
this computer
.
3.
Click
OK
.
4.
You may see a
Remote Sessions
window re-
minding you to set a password. Click
OK
to
close the window.

set up a password for the remote PC.
