Safety Integrity
The SIL1 level can be reached
▪ if the output is recognized as a one channel switching output
▪ as a high side switch (switches loads against mass) and
▪ if a single switching output is realized in the redundant operation,
but the THR values must admit it.
The SIL2 level is reached if two outputs are switching a load plus and minus.
▪ Not only the architecture is relevant of reaching a SIL level, also the THR
value.

▪ For reaching the SIL level, a superior control unit is also necessary, because
of the data processing.
