SOLAR & MICROWAVE TECHNOLOGY:
The Alerta is a highly efficient solar light with high capacity Lithium Ion batteries and a fast charging Polycrystalline solar panel
with up to 25 years life. This means that even on partially cloudy and rainy days, it will re-charge efficiently. The high battery
capacity gives enough power for up to 5 nights when there is little light during the day. The 1000 lumen light output is bright
enough to illuminate driveways & paths, making them safe to navigate at night with the dim 70 lumens resting mode resulting in
little light pollution.
INSTALLATION:
The Alerta is designed to be mounted on a wall, fence or solid, flat surface at a height of 2-3m. The higher the light is mounted,
the larger the illuminated area.
CHARGE FOR 2-3 DAYS BEFORE FIRST USE
Location
–
It is important that the installation location is carefully considered, avoiding shady areas. The best position is south
facing, however the light can work facing in other directions, especially when in full sunshine. Ensure there are no other lights
which could interfere with the Sensors, imitating daylight.
1.
Mark the holes for keyhole mounting on the mounting surface using the supplied mounting guide.
2.
Drill out the holes and insert the wall plugs supplied (alternative mounting screws may be required depending on the
surface).
3.
Screw the supplied screws into the plugs leaving 2-5mm of the screws protruding (depends on surface).
4.
Hook the solar lighting fitting over the screws, aligning with the keyhole mounts and push down to secure. Screws
should be tightened enough to result in flush, secure mounting of the fitting
–
adjust if necessary.
5.
Remove protective film from polycarbonate lens.
FUNCTION:
The Alerta functions as a motion sensor wall light with a Microwave Sensor. During darkness, the Alerta will illuminate at dim
brightness (70 lumens). When motion is detected within a 10m range the light will illuminate at full brightness. It will then return
to dim brightness after approximately 20-30 seconds of no movement detection. The Microwave Motion Sensor will not be
triggered during daylight.
TURNING ON:
Hold down the rubber on button on the side of the fitting until the light turns on
(approx. 3 seconds).
Note
–
if the fitting is turned on during daylight, the LEDs will illuminate temporarily and turn off again
until darkness due to the light sensor.
CHANGING COLOUR OF LED:
Press the power button quickly to switch between daylight white
and warm white. The default colour is Daylight White.
Note
–
If the colour temperature is changed during daylight, the colour of the LED will flash on and
then turn off again due to the light sensor.
TURNING OFF:
Hold down the rubber on button on the side of the fitting until the light turns on (approx. 3 seconds).
CHARGING:
The fitting must be turned on to charge. To test if the fitting is on during daylight, cover the solar panel.
