Troubleshooting

Cylinder does not
extend, extends too
slowly or stops when
extending.
Check the
hydraulic fluid level
in the hand pump
supplying the fluid.
Insufficient
hydraulic fluid in
the hand pump.
Refill the hydraulic fluid.
Check that the
pressure relief
valve on the hand
pump is closed.
Pressure relief
valve on the hand
pump open.
Close the pressure relief
valve on the hand pump.
Check that all
couplings are fully
tightened.
Hydraulic coupling
loose.
Tighten hydraulic
coupling.
Air in hydraulic
system.
Vent hydraulic system in
accordance with
section 6.1.
Check the cylinder
for damage.
Cylinder piston
jams.
Have the damage
repaired by an authorised
dealer, by personnel
specially trained by
LUKAS, or by LUKAS
itself.
Cylinder extends, but
does not maintain the
pressure.
Check that all
connections are
fully tightened.
Leaky connection. Tighten loose connection.
Check the cylinder
for leaks.
Leaking seals.
Have the leaks repaired
by an authorised dealer,
by personnel specially
