inc. VT AIS

responds by transmitting DS1 AIS toward the DSX-1 and VT RFI-V
back toward the fiber from which the AIS is being received.

Description
inc. VT AIS
Likely Cause
Incomplete or incorrect cross-connection
provisioning in end-to-end network; unprotected
removal or failure of a DS1 circuit pack at the far
end.
In ring applications, a non-service affecting VT
AIS alarm message may result from an upstream
OC-N circuit pack or fiber failure affecting only
one ring direction. A VT RFI-V alarm message is
not returned for a non-service affecting VT AIS.
