6.1 Error messages and what to do
Symptom Possible Cause Solution
Overrange The turbidity of the sample is
beyond the measuring range
of the instrument.
• Dilute the sample
• Verify calibration using a
high-range standard.
Under range The turbidity of the sample is
below the detection limit of
the instrument
• Repeat the stray light
measurement (zero
adjustment) as instructed
ensuring the sample lid is
closed.
• Repeat the calibration
after the stray light was
determined.
Instrument does not
turn on
Batteries are defective
Batteries are not inserted
correctly
• Replace batteries with a
complete new set.
“Save” button for a
function does not
appear, so a log
cannot be created.
Required information is
missing
Ensure that the user initials
and all other required fields
are properly addressed.
Instrument will not
take a measurement
Lid is not closed Close the lid.
