power. Use the Mode button within 5 seconds to select the battery voltage.
• The charging process then starts automatically and is signalled by the “ ”
LED.
• The battery is fully charged when the “ ” LED lights up constantly.
• After the charging process, first disconnect the charger from the mains power.
• It is imperative to adhere to the following disconnection sequence:
- Option A – Charging the battery with the charging clamp cable while
installed: First disconnect the black charging clamp (minus) from the vehicle
chassis or the engine block. Then, disconnect the red charging clamp (plus)
from the positive terminal on the battery.
- Option B – Charging the battery with the charging clamp cable while
removed: First disconnect the black charging clamp (minus) from the
negative terminal on the battery. Then, disconnect the red charging clamp
(plus) from the positive terminal on the battery.
- Option C – Charging with the ring terminal cable: Disconnect the charger
from the ring terminal cable using the quick connector and close the ring
terminal cable socket with the enclosed fastener. If the ring terminal cable
is not to remain permanently connected to the battery, and you wish to
disconnect it after charging the battery, disconnect the motorcycle earth
connection from the battery first. Then disconnect the black ring connector
(minus) from the negative terminal on the battery and then the red ring
connector (plus) from the positive terminal on the battery. Then, re-connect
the motorcycle earth connection to the negative terminal on the battery.
Interrupting the charging process
The charging process can be interrupted at any time. However, the charger must
always be disconnected from the mains power before the battery is disconnected from
the charger.
Charging duration
Please note that the charging processes may take different lengths of time. The
charging process for a large battery with a capacity of more than 40 Ah, for example,
can easily take longer than two days, depending on the condition of the battery (old or
new battery; flat or deeply discharged battery etc.).
