ASSEMBLING THE ADH2 ON A BRAKE TENSIONER STEM
BRAKE TENSIONER
On a look aerostem
When mounting the handlebar on a LOOK AEROSTEM, please read the instructions
for the stem.
On any other stem
Please tighten to the torque indicated on the stem. However, this torque must not
be in excess of 5Nm.
The ADH2 belt has a device for adjusting the brake opening, called a “tensioner”. It
can be adjusted directly when riding, if you want to :
- Adjust the brakes quickly and easily when changing to a different width of wheel.
- Open the brakes for easier fitting/dismantling of the wheel (if the tyre is bigger
than the space between brake shoes).
- To recover the wear on the shoes in order to keep the brake handles constant.
The end caps (32) are marked so that the previous adjustment is easy to restore.
Dismantling / Maintenance :
The tensioners can be removed for maintenance.
- Extract the tensioner end caps (32) by pulling them off manually.
- Unscrew the threaded stops (23 and 24) by hand, using a 3mm Allen key. This
will extract the guide ring (4).
- Clean and grease the inside of the knobs (21 and 22) and refit the threaded
caps (23 and 24).
- Change the guide rings.
- Clip on new tensioner casing caps (32) by pressing inside them with a non-
spherical end 4mm Allen key.
