Adjust Spindle Clutch
Finally, we need to adjust the spindle clutch on the
Front Panel
, according to the door opening
direction.
Marked on this clutch are the letters
L
(for Left) and
R
(for Right). These letters correspond with a
Left Inward/Outward
opening door and a
Right Inward/Outward
opening door respectively.
At the bottom of the clutch is a triangle marker which the letters need to be lined up with to apply
the correct setting.
Rotate this clutch, using a pair of pliers, until the correct letter lines up with this marker. This will
ensure that when you rotate the handle, the locking mechanism will move the bolts as expected
when engaged.
Note:
If, after you have fitted the door unit, the bolts do not engage when locking, then this clutch
has not been set correctly and needs to be adjusted again.
