LIGHTS AND SHADOWS

THE ELECTRONIC EYE

We can trigger the Logiblocs by shining light
into the LIGHT SWITCH.

Many systems use light to switch machines
on or off. A light sensor is often used to
open doors.

Some systems are controlled by invisible
light like the remote control on your TV.

Pass your hand over the lens of the
LIGHT SWITCH and see the lights
change. You need to stop all the light
getting to the lens to make this
work properly.

We will now make some other
systems controlled by light.

SHADOW SURPRISES

Place the same blocks upright so
that as people pass by, their shadow
makes the BLEEP come on.

How about setting up the blocks to
wake you up when the sun rises,
or when your bedroom light is
turned on.
