Hydrophone

The hydrophone is an HTI-96-min. You will receive a separate calibration sheet for the hydrophone.

The default system gain is full scale = 0.79 Vpeak (i.e. +2 dB gain).

For example, hydrophone with sensitivity of -170 dBV/uPa will have a clip level of 168 dB.

Batteries

LHC uses D-cell batteries, which power both the audio recorder and camera.

The expected deployment duration will be calculated and shown on the display assuming that 12 D-cell
batteries have been installed.

Recording Settings

Settings are programmed on the audio board through three buttons on the front.

Press ENTER (bottom button) to scroll through menu choices. The Up and Down buttons can be used to

Normal Mode:

The camera will record on a duty cycle continuously.  For example, with Rec=60 s and Slp=240s,
the camera will record for 60 seconds (1 minute) and sleep for 240 seconds (4 minutes),
yielding a duty cycle of 1 minute of recording for every 5 minutes.
