Hydraulic Snow Blower OM
Maintenance
Removing Chain Cover
Disconnect or turn off all power to the snow blower.
DANGER:
Failure to turn off power to the
snow blower before removing the chain
cover could result in serious injury or death.
To remove the chain cover, loosen (but do not remove)
the three bolts (1). Slide the cover (2) off of the frame.
Reinstall cover and tighten bolts to return the cover to its
normal operating position.
Adjusting Chain Tension
Disconnect or turn off all power to the snow blower.
DANGER:
Failure to turn off power to the
snow blower before checking or adjusting
chain tension could result in serious injury or
death.
Remove chain cover. See “Removing Chain Cover”
above for instructions.
IMPORTANT
: The chain must be properly tensioned
after one hour of operation, and every 25
hours thereafter.
There should be 1 in. deflection in the chain (1) when
pressure is applied at the midpoint.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the two nuts (1)
securing the motor to the frame.
Loosen the jam nut (2). Turn the hex bolt (3) to either
INCREASE or DECREASE chain tension.
NOTE:
If loosening the chain tension, make sure to slide
motor/adjustment plate (4) so it rests against
end of hex bolt.
There should be 1 in. deflection in the chain when
pressure is applied at the midpoint.
IMPORTANT
: Do not overtighten chain.
Tighten jam nut once proper deflection has been attained.
Tighten the two nuts securing the motor/adjustment
plate.
