WARNINGS
• Never block the vents on the rear of the
appliance. Be aware of the possibility of steam
emitting from vents.
• Do not use the appliance without oil or water in
the pot. The appliance will stop heating upon
reaching 248ºF (120ºC) with an empty pot.
• IMMEDIATELY turn appliance OFF if oil begins
to smoke.
• Add food slowly to avoid boil over.
• Do not use refrigerated oil and do not mix
di
ff
erent types of oil at the same time.
CAUTION
OIL AND WATER DO NOT MIX.
• The combination of oil and water can be
dangerous. When oil is heated, water
droplets in the water become a volatile
steam that can cause oil to splatter, boil
over or erupt from the appliance. Hot oil can
cause severe burns.
• Make sure the appliance and all
components are completely dry after
cleaning and before frying.
• All foods placed into the appliance should
be thoroughly defrosted to 35ºF-40ºF
(1.6ºC-4.4ºC).
• Before placing food into the appliance,
always remove ice crystals and excess
moisture by patting dry with paper towels.

CAUTION
Always cook with the lid in place. Escaping
steam from lid handle vent or when opening
lid may cause burns to arms, hands or
fi
ngers. Open lid with caution to prevent
being burned by escaping steam.
• Maintain a minimum distance of 18 inches (46
cm) from the rear and sides and 40 inches
(102 cm) from the top of the appliance to any
combustible material.
