Your LoCo Crazy Good
Turkey Fryer is intended for
a maximum turkey size of

20

pounds (9 kg)

.

Thoroughly defrost your
frozen turkey to 35ºF-40ºF (1.6ºC 4.4ºC).

If you

prefer to thaw your turkey in your refrigerator, allow
approximately 24 hours for every 4 pounds (1.8
kg). That’s approximately 120 hours of refrigerated
thawing time for a 20 pound (9 kg) turkey.
Be sure to remove the neck and giblet bag from the
turkey’s inner cavity, as well as the turkey’s pop-up
cooking indicator and leg ties.

1.  Thoroughly rinse your turkey with warm water or

soak it in warm water up to 30 minutes to make
sure there is no ice remaining in cavities.

2.  Completely dry the outer surfaces and inside

cavities of the turkey with paper towels. Make
sure no ice remains inside.

3.  Inject marinade into your turkey’s breast, wings,

thighs and legs, then add seasoning to the
inside and outside.

 We

recommend

LoCo Cookers’ Creole

Seasoning Kit

 which includes Injectable

Marinade and Dry Rub. (Sold separately)

Follow packaging instructions to determine the

appropriate amount of seasoning.

PREPARE YOUR TURKEY

FRY YOUR TURKEY!

Check once more for any remaining water or ice in
the turkey.

1.  Make sure that your fryer is on a stable, level

and heat-resistant surface out of reach of
children.

2.  Fill the cooking pot with oil to the MAX

fi

 ll line.

Never fry with the oil level below the MIN

fi

 ll

line.

 We

recommend

LoCo Cookers’ Peanut Oil

Blend

 for it’s great

fl

 avor and high smoke

point. However, any cooking oil may be used.

3.  Place the lid on the pot and start your fryer to

begin heating the oil as indicated in the “Touch-
Screen Controls” section.

4.  While the oil is heating, calculate the cooking

time for your turkey.

•  The recommended cooking time is 3.5-4

  minutes per pound (0.45 kg).

•  A 20-pound (9 kg) turkey should cook in

  approximately 70-80 minutes.

5.  Once your fryer has alerted you that it has

reached frying temperature, place your turkey
in the basket breast side up.

6.  Remove the lid from the pot. Wear protective

gloves or mitts and

very slowly

 lower the

basket into the pot using the lifting hook.
Replace the lid on the pot.

7.  After cooking time has elapsed, remove the

basket from the cooking pot with the lifting
hook and use the Twist & Drain

TM

 feature to

allow excess oil to drain back into the pot.

8.  Use a meat thermometer to check the turkey

breast. The safe temperature is

165ºF-170ºF

(74ºC-77ºC)

. Additional frying time may be

required if the turkey has not yet reached the
safe internal temperature.

9. Press

the

Pour

button to begin the oil cool-

down process as indicated in the “Touch-
Screen Controls” section.

10.  Let your turkey rest in the basket for 10

minutes before carving and serving.
