Connecting—
Continued
6.
The last connection to make is the Sony night-shot camera. This connector
is located on the lower left hand side of the case. The camera has a 10 foot
cable and connects to the connector protruding from the case. There is extra
cable, approximately 3 foot, that can be used by loosing the strain relief nut
and pulling the cable from the case. Be sure and tighten the nut after pulling
the cable out to seal the connector around the cable. This is very important
to maintain a waterproof seal with the case.
*NOTE* The CamoCam III system is designed for
only one camera to be used at a time. When using
the external bullet camera, be sure to turn off the
Sony Night Shot Camera. The OFF switch is lo-
cated on the camera control panel, Figure E. The
system will then power up the bullet camera and a
picture will be on the recorder display when acti-
vated.

Let’s turn the unit on and run through a test. Turn on the System Power
switch, Figure F, which is located inside on the panel. In the ON position,
this switch powers up the processor and keeps the system in the run mode.
When the switch is in the OFF position and power is hooked up to a external
battery, power is supplied to the GVD 800 recorder and will allow you to
change tapes and aim cameras without recording .
*NOTE* Be sure to switch the system power to the ON position after setting up
and aiming the system camera. In the OFF position, no power is supplied to the
system receiver or the system processor and the system will not respond to the
sensors or key fob transmitter.

Passive Infrared (PIR) Sensor
The Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor is used to detect motion and heat.
It has a narrow detection range and care must be taken to properly
aim the sensor during installation. The radio link allows the sensor to
be located up to 2600 feet (line of sight) from the camera. For best
results, the sensor needs a solid background, such as the ground, a
building, or dense tree line, to shoot against. As with any PIR sensor,
it must be mounted in such a way that it will not move or vibrate. If
it is mounted in a tree and the wind moves the tree, the sensor will
false trip. It is supplied with two 9 volt batteries located inside the
cap on the case. To remove the cap simple undo the two latches lo-
cated on either side. The batteries should last approximately 45 days
under normal operating conditions.
