Thank you for choosing to fly the Urubu. It is essential that you
read the manual before flying your wing for the first time.
Please ensure that the manual always remains with the wing, espe-
cially if it is passed on or sold.
The manual outlines the technical specifications for each model,
the recommendations for use, and some important points for your
safety. If you have any questions on anything that you feel hasn’t
been covered in the manual, please contact your dealer, instruc-
tor, or refer to our website: www.LittleCloud.fr

The Urubu
The Urubu has an aspect ratio close to 6.15 dedicated to pilots
with good XC skills, type EN C.
A performant glider is not designed to compensate the lack of expe-
rience or skills of the pilots, even though its’ potential allows easier
flying! During the development, we focus on safety to keep it simple
and fun to fly. For example, we decided to skip nylon rods on the tips
after the last open cell. This helps to reduce stuck cravats.
The Urubu is a pure 3-liner glider.
The handling is incredible, pitchless, bitey, very heavy to stall.
She’s offering a very good feeling of the air mass through the brake
lines. Its’ intuition and low over reactions offer a high level of pas-
sive safety.
Like a lot of modern gliders, the collapses are pushed pretty far
away, but they do happen at some stage when the air is getting
very rowdy. We think it’s too easy to put yourself into this rough
air because the glider can handle so much turbulences... although
the passive safety is quite high and reactions are very predictable,
we feel more comfortable to dedicate it to pilots who have enough
experience to avoid or deal with these conditions.
Risers
The Urubu is equipped with a 3.5 risers system.
The A risers are colored in blue.
Risers are equipped with an accelerator system, and the range is
13cm. Note that during accelerated flight the angle of attack is re-
duced, hence the chance of an increase in collapses.
Note that it is possible to pilot the Urubu with the C risers, instead
of the brakes.
We implemented a T-bar to rest your hands during C flying.
This technique of flying is recommended for experienced pilots
only, since a C stall could be initiated.
Please note that the Speedbar hooks are located 10 to 15cm higher
than usual. Please take the time to well adjust your speedbar be-
fore taking off! When you push the bar more than halfway, bear in
mid to use the rear risers control to maximize the stability of your
wing at low angle of attack.
First Flight
Before each and every flight you must make a mental check that
your experience, equipment, and conditions are appropriate for
the flight you are about to make. Never hesitate to ask your dealer
/ instructor for advice.
As a pilot, the checklist procedure and preparation of your glider
must be automatic. Rules force us to go through these elements...
sorry about that!
First Flight Checklist :
•
Check your harness, helmet, and reserve is in order.
•
Prepare the wing on the ground, checking the lines and risers are
clear with no twists.
•
Check your attachment points to the glider, take the controls and
check there are no twists.
•
Check the launch area, air space, and the conditions are suitable for
inflation and launch.
If there is no wind, use a forward launch (elbows close to the body).
The reverse launch should be used when possible. The Urubu has
virtually no pitch, so it is unlikely to overshoot when launching.
Before launching, inflate the wing for one final check.
Avoid braking too hard when inflating the wing, instead, use for-
ward momentum to launch the wing. Once the wing has achieved
enough speed you can then adjust with the brakes if necessary.
During your first flight you should keep plenty of distance from the
hillside while testing the reactivity of the controls during your first
turns. You will get a feeling for how reactive the glider is, and its’
sink rate in relation to the tightness of the turns.
Important:
We strongly advise you to not take off with a glider partially open
or with a lack of roll or pitch control. Practice ground handling as
much as possible, not only is it good fun, but it’s the best way to
