BNC Connections
When using devices with BNC inputs or outputs it is important to use the proper connection method
between that device and SC Amp. This is because BNC is inherently single ended.
For BNC Device Input
Figure 7-4
shows the
Tip
and
Ring
of a 1/4” TRS male phone plug wired to the Center conductor and
Shield of a BNC connector. The TRS Plug connects to the Impedance Interface Output of SC Amp. Since
the BNC input is single ended, this connection allows you to connect to the differential output of the
Impedance Interface Output which is essential for the correct operation of this circuit.
For BNC Device Output
The BNC output can be connected to a 1/4” Tip / Sleeve male phone plug as shown in
Figure 7-5
. The
audio input of SC Amp accepts Balanced and Single Ended connections.
In this case a standard BNC cable with a BNC female to 1/4” male adapter is suitable for use as well.
