3.2 Installation of the NCC-001 Software and Firmware
The following sub-sections detail the installation of the NCC-001 PC software required to communicate with the
controller, as well as to keep the controller up to date. The program "Nitrous Control Center" allows the user to
view data logs, transfer programs to and from the controller, and to create new programs on the computer. The
program "NCC Controller Flash Utility" is used to flash updated firmware to the controller. The controller can be
connected via USB cable to any computer equipped with Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7. The
current installed software version (or build) number can be viewed through the "
About NCC-001 " selection on both
the computer program or controller. The first number represents the current major revision number and the last
two numbers represent the current minor revision number.
IMPORTANT: The computer software and the controller firmware do not have to have
to be on the same minor revision number for the controller to operate, but the major
revision number MUST be the same on both or else the computer and controller will
not be able to communicate with each other. This manual was written using version
2.0.7.
