User Manual
1.0 PRODUCT OVERVIEW AND FEATURES
1.1
Description
Lindsay Broadband LB-1000-EDFA series is a family of high-performance Erbium Doped Fiber
Amplifier modules designed as an integral part of the high density LB-1000 Headend system.
High quality 980nm and 1480nm Pump Laser, high amplification gain with low noise figure, and a
wide range of optical output powers (15dBm to 23dBm), this EDFA module is an ideal solution for
both analog and digital signal transmission. The built-in microprocessor can detect and monitor
the pump laser status and the input/output optical power in real time. When the operating status
of the EDFA is abnormal, corresponding alarm will be triggered. In the case of critical alarm; the
pump laser will be shut down automatically to protect the EDFA. If there is no optical signal in the
input, the module will turn to standby mode automatically. All module parameters can be
monitored and configured through the LB-1000-CM system management module using the touch
screen or by using the PC (Web GUI or SNMP agent).
